ABOUT

My name is Peter. I live in the northwest of England. For those of you who may be into golf and recognise the name Royal Lytham & St Annes, I live about ½ mile from the first tee. And yes I do try to play.

I have always had a passion for art and painting but have barely held a brush since high school.

One Christmas I was given a simple starter kit - easel, paints and brushes. These went into a drawer and were duly forgotten.

That is until I retired! And so in 2017 at the age of 67, I had a try at painting one of my favourite golf holes from a photo of Florida. It wasn't too successful but from that moment on I believe things got better.......

Hot Lips 2018

RED

It took me ages to realise that having given the "Red" to my daughter, I didn't have one for my own collection. A slightly different style for the start of the rainbow but still in keeping with the genre.

Eagle Eye 2018

YELLOW

New colour - Yellow. After searching the net for ideas for a subject with a small splash of yellow I finally found out that eagles eyes are yellow. This composition is totally my own, including the mountains and the flying eagle!

In The Pink 2019

PINK

For pink I remembered when I was learning how to use the macro function on my DSLR camera, I took a photo of a single pink rose. So 3 down, 4 to go.

Green Fingers 2020

GREEN

I went through quite a lot of green items - green grass, 10 green bottles etc, but finally settled on Green Fingers, which is English as opposed to Green Thumb which is American, apparently!
So, just orange, purple and blue left.

I always had in mind to do a "still life" with fruit (minus the lemons).

Purple Rain 2019

The idea for this came from a tutorial YouTube video produced by Jane Font.
The original window frame was all black so I changed it to wood effect, And of course, the rain became purple.
